2010 Litters

We have two litters planned for 2010. This spring Tilia will be bred to Dux. We estimate puppies
would be ready for their new homes in July or August. We are expecting some nice working
puppies from this litter, with good angles and nice bone.

June's second litter should be ready to go to their new homes around the end of 2010. We have
not yet made a final determination on who she will be bred to.

About our breeding program

Litters at Zephyr Kennel are carefully planned out. Pedigrees, structure and temperament are
studied. We currently obtain OFA, CERF, heart and thyroid health clearances on both parents
before undertaking a breeding. Puppies are available only occasionally, and litters are almost
always spoken for well in advance of their birth. Our puppies have gone to hunting homes, show
homes, agility homes, obedience homes and pet homes.

Litters are whelped in our home. We handle the puppies daily. We practice the early neurological
stimulation techniques advocated by
Dr. Carmen L. Battaglia. From four weeks on there is a
steady influx of visitors. Friends, neighbors and people on our waiting list are encouraged to visit
and interact with the puppies. In fact, from about six weeks on until the time they leave for their
new homes, we are actively lining up folks to come over and help us wear out the puppies. Our
puppies are exposed to new sights and sounds daily including duck wings and the great
outdoors.

Our puppies are temperament tested at approximately seven weeks of age using a variation of
the
Volhard method. The litter is structurally evaluated around 8 weeks of age by knowledgeable
breeders in our area. Based on these results, our own observations and our understanding of
the experience and interest of each potential home we match each puppy to its new family.

If you are interested in learning more about Tollers or being on our waiting list for an upcoming
litter we recommend you call us for a phone interview. At that time we can let you know if we have
any upcoming litters planned. An alternative would be to contact the NSDTRC USA breeder
referral. This way you will receive information about all NSDTRC USA members with upcoming
litters who choose to list with the club's breeder referral service. If we have a litter planned, our
contact information, along with a time frame, will be found on this list.
